This is an archived session with Alain Rousseau – Director, Sepia Solutions – from the Auditopia 2026 Arbutus Conference.
Whether doing a one-off analysis, regular tests or continuous monitoring, you may encounter situations where you need to analyse a large set o transactions.
Risk-scoring transactions may be the first step, before additional (sometimes manual) work needs to be done. The risk scores can then be a way to filter or sample the transactions.
This session illustrates how to build your own risk indicators on your data, starting with basic indicators based on just the single record, and progresses to more advanced indicators across multiple transactions.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Identify transaction characteristics and patterns that can be used as fraud and risk indicators in data analytics.
- Develop risk-scoring approaches that combine multiple indicators to prioritize transactions for further analysis or review.
- Apply Arbutus analytical techniques to identify risk indicators within individual records and across multiple transactions.
