Virtual Events
Join us as we learn from seasoned experts and share real-world knowledge through our virtual community events.
We offer a mix of free and paid sessions, with many providing CPE credit. Event pages will outline specific details. For most webinars, CPE can be earned by completing a short quiz after the session, while conferences may follow a different process.

Artificial intelligence is changing how audit work is performed—but auditors can get ahead of the curve by learning how to use it effectively. In this practical session, you will explore how Python and large language models (LLMs) can help analyze data and automatically draft audit findings and reports.
You will also learn how to create a process in which an audit report can be reviewed, updated, and regenerated throughout the audit as new data and human input become available—all while keeping the auditor’s professional judgment and oversight at the center of the process.

Python and artificial intelligence are creating new opportunities to make SOX testing more efficient, consistent, and scalable. In this practical session, you will explore how to design an automated SOX testing process, including the technology, data, and Python components required to support it.
The session with Claire Worledge will examine where AI can add value, which testing activities can be automated, and where human judgment and intervention remain essential. You will also consider the implementation effort, potential cost savings, example Python code, and approaches other organizations are using to advance their SOX testing programs.

This hands-on workshop is for auditors and analysts who use Caseware IDEA daily and want to move beyond basic extractions to build complex expressions in the Equation Editor. Working with IDEA’s sample databases, participants will combine logical operators, nested @If statements, and @functions for text, date, and numeric data to write precise criteria.

This workshop is for IDEA users who work comfortably in the Equation Editor, including those with little or no scripting
experience. You will learn to build custom functions in the Custom Function Editor and call them from the Equation Editor
to handle logic the built-in @functions cannot, such as multi-step conditions, text parsing, and calculations you reuse
across projects. You will need access to IDEA for this workshop and a basic knowledge of programming is an asset.

This hands-on workshop is for auditors and analysts who use IDEA daily and have basic IDEAScript experience but have not yet worked with IDEA’s object model. Using IDEA 14 and its sample databases, participants learn to open and manage databases through the Client object, read TableDef and Field properties, run extractions, summarizations and joins in code, read records with RecordSet, and add basic error handling. Afterward, they can build scripts that run analyses consistently and repeatably, producing results that are easier to document, review and rerun in audit and compliance work.

For IDEA users comfortable with the Equation Editor but new to regular expressions. Using IDEA’s sample databases, you will write patterns and use @RegExpr to find, extract, and validate text such as postal codes, phone numbers, emails, and invoice numbers. These skills help you check data quality, isolate inconsistent entries, and spot exceptions in audit work.

Join Mike Pretorius as he demonstrates his new audit analytics app, Visual Audit Analytics. The platform layers a modern, visual interface on top of the ACL Analytics application many auditors already know and use.
By using drag-and-drop workflows to build and map analytics steps, the tool aims to make scripts easier to develop, understand, and maintain. The application also introduces AI-assisted capabilities that can help generate scripts and support analytics development using natural language.

Q&A
We very much welcome active contributors from our community. Let’s connect and talk about the topic you have in mind and the steps to prepare the event. It doesn’t have to be a heavy lift for you and we can explore different options together (being the sole expert v. being one of multiple panelists). Being a speaker on Auditopia is a great way to share your knowledge with everyone, build your professional network, and make a name for yourself among peers.
Absolutely! A recording will be available in the course catalog about 1 day after each virtual event. Our Pro members enjoy unlimited access and discounts to most courses and resources.
All of your certificates of completion are conveniently archived directly on the platform. You can download them at any time by navigating to ‘My Certificates’ in the drop-down menu next to your profile picture (you have to be logged in).
Our certificates of completion comply with IIA, ISACA, and ACFE CPE requirements for any certifications held by those associations (CIA, CISA, CRMA, CFE, etc.).
Auditopia currently offers NASBA-approved CPA CPE for Group Live (GL) and Group Internet Based (GIB) programs. CPA CPE will be available for these events and will be clearly identified at the time of registration. For Group Internet Based programs, NASBA-approved CPA CPE is offered only for select events, which will be explicitly noted. Auditopia is not yet certified under NASBA’s Quality Assurance Service (QAS) for self-study programs; however, we are actively pursuing this certification and plan to expand our CPA CPE offerings in the future.
Based on the community feedback, we have identified topics that are a priority for many of us. We’ve set those themes up as event series so you’ll only need to register once to get the Zoom link sent to your email for all events in the series. You can unsubscribe from the series at any time.
Of course! Sometimes, the email content filter in organizations blocks the Zoom Webinar emails with the join links. If you still have time before the event starts, please reach out to us and we’ll assist you.
