Data Analytics Series
Automatically Write Your Audit Report With Python & Data
- Event Outline
Artificial intelligence is changing how audit work is performed—but auditors can get ahead of the curve by learning how to use it effectively. In this practical session, you will explore how Python and large language models (LLMs) can help analyze data and automatically draft audit findings and reports.
You will also learn how to create a process in which an audit report can be reviewed, updated, and regenerated throughout the audit as new data and human input become available—all while keeping the auditor’s professional judgment and oversight at the center of the process.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to run an audit data test using Python.
- Explain how Python and an LLM can be used to generate a draft audit report from test results.
- Describe a process that allows auditors to review, update, and regenerate the report as the audit progresses.

Claire, as an FCA, my biggest concern with auto-generating audit findings with LLMs is the ‘judgment dilution’ risk. Python flags the exception, the LLM drafts a finding that sounds authoritative, and a junior auditor copy-pastes it without challenging materiality or root cause. In your process for review, update, and regeneration – what hard control do you embed to force the auditor to document their professional skepticism BEFORE the LLM is allowed to regenerate the report?
