My team and I have taken the first steps toward implementing a knowledge graph with Neo4j. The schema will expand as more types of nodes and relationships are added. I can already feel the power Neo4j will give us. I would not want to take this journey without Alteryx.
This workflow is what it takes to connect purchase orders to projects in SAP. It represents 1 type of relationship in the schema. There are dozens (hundreds?) of relationships to model. Alteryx makes it easy to split the work into digestible pieces.

This also shows a huge strength of Neo4j. I can model each node and relationship separately. I don’t need to worry about creating a table that has everything. My Tableau/BI datasets quickly become unwieldy as more info is added. I don’t see the same challenge with Neo4j.
To add a new node or relationship, I create a new, self-contained workflow. No dependencies. No flattening. No fuss.
Every time I work on our graph, I get excited about Neo4j and Alteryx. What an incredible combo.
